  • The Salix AJK 33a Cricket Bat has been rated 10 out of 10Verified Owner - Reviewer has purchased the Salix AJK 33a Cricket Bat from Lord's Online Shop3 out of 3 people found the following review helpful

This is probably the finest bat I have ever owned. The bat itself does not have the biggest edges. 30mm to be precise and a 50mm spine, but that does not take away from the immense power of this bat. Even it not knocked it pinged a lot better than bats I have previously owned. The bat has a significant bow, which is especially helpful for clearing the in-field. There is a slight bit off concaving, but that is to be expected from a bat that is only 2lb 6oz. The spine of the bat runs all the way down to the toe of the bat which means that the toe is very responsive as well. The pick up of the bat in exquisite. But the really special thing about this bat is that it is made from the top 1 grade of clefts that Salix receives every year and it is handmade by the owner and head bat maker of Salix, Andrew Kember himself.ali, londonWas this review helpful to you?yes no

The AJK bats are performance encapsulated in willow, characterised by the unique combination profile of languid bow and exaggerated edges. Chosen from the pick of the timber, the best of the best grade ones, these are rare and precious clefts stemming from trees which have grown exceptionally evenly to produce the truest grain and cleanest note. These are auteur cricket bats: from cleft selection through to the final finish they stay in Andrews hands. Within the bat we offer 2 grades allowing the flexibility to select the finest performing bats without cosmetic constraint.

All top coaches agree with suppliers and manufacturers that choosing the correct size bat is vital for the proper technical development of young cricketers. It is important that the bat is not too long and more importantly not too heavy to hinder correct stroke play and good technique.
